KUALA LUMPUR, 14 June 2026 – The Royal Malaysian Polo Association (RMPA) successfully concluded the Cahaya Cup 2026 following twelve days of competitive polo action at the historic Kuala Lumpur Polo Club.

Held from 3 to 14 June 2026, the tournament featured two divisions, Category 1 (Low Goal 0–2) and Category 2 (Medium Goal 2–4), bringing together players, patrons, sponsors and polo enthusiasts in one of the most anticipated tournaments on the Malaysian polo calendar.

Sri Bendahara and Samudera emerged as champions of the Cahaya Cup 2026 following an exciting fortnight of polo competition.

Samudera Clinch Category 1 – Low Goal Title

The Category 1 Low Goal Grand Final saw Samudera take on Malaya Cavaliers following strong performances from both teams throughout the preliminary rounds.

Samudera continued their impressive unbeaten run to secure the championship, defeating Malaya Cavaliers 6.5 goals to 3 in the final. Their consistency, teamwork and disciplined play throughout the tournament proved decisive as they lifted the Cahaya Cup 2026 Category 1 Low Goal trophy.

Earlier in the Subsidiary Final, Langkasuka overcame Andalas Rider to secure third place in the division.

Sri Bendahara Reigns Supreme in Category 2 – Medium Goal

The Medium Goal division produced some of the tournament’s most competitive polo, culminating in a highly anticipated Grand Final between Sri Bendahara and El Viento La Sarita.

Having topped the standings heading into the finals, Sri Bendahara delivered another commanding performance to defeat El Viento La Sarita 8 goals to 5, securing the Category 2 Medium Goal championship title and completing an outstanding tournament campaign.

El Viento La Sarita finished as runners-up after an impressive run to the final, while Royal Pahang claimed third place after defeating Ranhill Windhorse in the Subsidiary Final.

A Successful Showcase of Malaysian Polo

Over the course of twelve days, Cahaya Cup 2026 provided a valuable platform for emerging and experienced players alike, showcasing the growing depth and competitiveness of Malaysian polo.

The tournament concluded with a Prize Giving Ceremony and celebratory Asado Dinner at the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club, bringing together players, officials, trainers, grooms, supporters and guests to mark the successful conclusion of another memorable edition of the Cahaya Cup.

RMPA extends its appreciation to Kuala Lumpur Polo Club, participating teams, umpires, officials, trainers, grooms and supporters whose contributions helped make CahayaCup 2026 a resounding success.
